Hotels
There is a wide variety of hotels in India. One can choose any of the category of hotels based on the requirement. There are The hotels suggested by us are the selected hotels based upon the the reviews of travelers. Most of the hotels offer amenities such as health clubs, restaurant, swimming pool, business centre etc.
Categorization of Hotels
The major categorization of hotels is based on star category of the hotels. There is a large number of 5 star, 4 star, 3 star & budget hotels in India. In the big cities, there would be a wide range of choice and the choice can be on the range of 3 star to 5 star hotels. In some parts the accommodation can be offered in the heritage properties such as forts, havelis and palaces. These Havelis, Maharaja Palaces and forts are remodeled into hotels for tourists would provide the standard accommodation.
Day Use
The International Regulations for the accommodation during the day of departure to be check out in the morning around 09.30 to 10.00. Generally the International flights would depart around midnight and prior booking should be made at time of reservation for the day use of the room.
Triple Rooms
In big cities the hotel, the accommodation can be categorized into single rooms, double rooms, triple rooms and family suites. Although there is no such triple room in the hotels in India. The double room is converted into triple room by adding extra bed/ mattress to the room. This reduces the additional space of the room and it may be little uncomfortable for some tourists. In some business hotels there is no concept of triple room due to lack of space. It is mendatory to mention about triple room at the time of reservation.
International Air
Flights to India
All International airports in India are in New Delhi, Hyderabad,Mumbai, Calcutta, Bangalore, Goa, Chennai, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Trivandrum.
Most of the international flights arrive in the early morning or at late night and mainly land at the International airports such a New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and others.
Many International flights will fly directly to India from the departure place. Few of them may stop at one en route to India somewhere in MiddleEast or Europe.
Domestic Flights
Various airlines run domestic flights throughout India. Our association is with the Air India, Indigo, Spicejet and Jet Airways. Depending upon the destination you choose in the country, mostof thetransfer is done through airways. We do all the flight bookings for the better control of the domestic flights like any changes in the schedule, etc.
General Information
Vaccinations and Medicines:
We would recommend you be vaccinated for Polio and Tetanus. You may carry medicines for the infections caused through food, water, etc. It is advisable to take anti-malarial medication. Before touring do consult your healthcare provider for more information about health.
Climate:
In India there are three seasons known as the hot season from April to July, the wet season from July to September, the cool season from September to April. During the hot season it is ideal for photography and sightseeing. But in north i.e Rajasthan it would to be too hot and dry.Sometimes the hot summer is unbearable. In the cool season the temperature would be prefect for the sightseeing. You can see the beauty of India in the Cool season.The rainfall starts in July in the wet season there are possibility of floods in some areas. The monsoon differs in many regions of India.
Documents:
The international tourist need to carry their passport and visa with a validity of at least 6 months from the date of entry to India. Nationals of Bhutan and Nepal need not carry any visa to enter India.
- Passport with a validity of 6 months and at least two blank pages.
- Visa with stamping.
- Two recent passport size photographs.
- Application form filled with all columns.
Upon Arrival in India
Once upon arrival in India you have to immediately complete the visa formalities. Claim your baggage and exit. At the exit point you would meet our representative who would assist you till the hotel. Your journey begins from here in India.
Language:
In India, Hindi is the national language. You would find most of the people speaking Hindi in North and people speaking English are widely seen in many parts of the country. Different regions haveits own local language.
Electricity:
The standard Voltage is 240v. You can use the universal adaptor that will allow you to use the electrical items. The adaptor should be suitable to Indian sockets. In India most of the sockets are of round 3 pin plugs.
Time Zone:
India is ahead of 5 hours 30 mins of Greenwich Mean Time(GMT). India does not utilize daylight saving time.
Urban Transport:
It would be better to know about the transport system in India. In India driving is on the right. To reach most of the destination you need to travel in a car. There can be journey for more than 6 hours travel distance from the location you stay and it would be some hundred kilometers. Through roadways you can enjoy the beauty of the village and towns, youwould get learn tradition and culture of the country.
Currency:
India currency is the Rupee. The Rupee is non-exportable. In the major airports and banks you can exchange your currency.Enchasing of travellers cheque is difficult in the small towns and remote areas. In major cities most of the credit cards are accepted. You can withdraw cash from ATMs in major cities.
Mance:
Expressing your gratitude with a tip is nothing wrong and it is not a mandatory. You can share it only out of gratitude to the work done by the people like drivers, porters and local guides.
Local Guides:
India is the land of vast history, tradition and culture. So it is extremely important to have the local guide who will bring alive the architectural and stories of the places which you are visiting.The local guide who can speak English.
Guide/Escort:
We do provide guides who will be theexpert in that language you prefer if you are not familiar with English language. The guides would accompany you throughout your journey in India.
Phone :
In the all major city hotels you will have the facilities to call your country. You would get the international code which is followed by the area code. Most of the cell phone work in the major cities. In the small towns and hill stations you can use the ISD, there may be problem of coverage.
Shopping:
India is a shopper’s paradise. The most important is to bargains in hand. You can find State run handicraft emporiums, the price would be reasonable and the stock is the best. You getvarieties of handicrafts, breathtaking design of jewellery, paintings, wood carvings, Kashmiri carpets, Rajasthani pottery and clothing and many more.
Clothing:
In major cities like Mumbai, Delhi you’ll see people wearing westernized clothes. In small town, it would be better to cover the legs and shoulders. Avoid wearing short dress. You can casual and informal dress regardless the season. Carry with you the sunglasses, a hat,get comfortable walking shoes, sandals and socks. Bring mosquito repellent.
Photos:
If you are carrying a camera along with the photographic material such as memory cards, batteries , remotes, you need have an extra as in small town these thinks may not be available. At some palaces, monuments, forts, temples generally they will not allow public to take the photograph and at some place you need to entrance permits for the cameras. The cost differs from place to place. One of the most important thing to be kept in mind is that taking photographic at the airports, tribal settlements, military zone and many other places are forbidden.
Kitchen:
During touring in the major cities the breakfast would be with the international menus, but when you are on sightseeing you will have the local cuisine. Not all cuisines in India are so hot that it’s unbearable, there are delicate in flavor and aromatic. You would get plenty of opportunities to taste the original and fantastic Indian food during the tour. In the north of the country you get the delicious non-vegetarian cuisine such as tandoori chicken, Mughal dish, meat. In the south of the country you find most of the dishes with curries and rice. Near the coastal area you get much of fish cuisine with varieties of flavors.
Drinking Water:
Drink only mineral water available in the bottles. Avoid water, which are not in the bottled and ice in the drinks.
