Average Climate: Puducherry has tropical climate. Summer are hot and the temperature goes upto 40°C between April to June, Winter temperature goes upto 20 °C between November till February.

Also known as the “French Riviera of the East”, Puducherry is an Indian Union Territory acquired by India from the French in 1956. It is affectionately known as Pondy. A quiet little town on the south coast of India, it is a blend of French colonial heritage and Indian culture.
Puducherry has a tropical wet and dry climate, similar to that of Tamil Nadu. The average maximum temperature is 35oC.
Puducherry has a variety of food options available. From authentic French cuisine to South Indian cuisine, one gets it all.
Puducherry being one of the most famous tourist destinations in South India has many beautiful buildings and French style avenues. The Beach Road is one of the main attractions, and no visit to Puducherry is considered complete without a walk along the beach road. Other famous historical sites are, Children’s Park & Dupleix Statue, The Mairie, Le Café, Gandhi Statue, French War Memorial, Aayi Mandapam and Romain Rolland Library. Beaches of Puducherry are other important tourist destinations. There are 4 main beaches namely, Promenade, Paradise Beach, Serenity Beach, Auroville Beach.
The renowned saint Sri Aurobindo and the Mother resided in Puducherry, whose ashram still exists and operates here. Based on the ideas of the Mother, a unique experimental city of Auroville was created on the outskirts of the city, whose inhabitants belong from different parts of the world.
