Average Climate: Summers (April to June) are hot & the temperature rises upto 42°C. The temperature in Monsoons (July to September) is moderate. Winters (October to March) are colder and have an average temperature between 10 °C to 23°C.

Nicknamed “the heart of India” due to its geographical location in the central India, Madhya Pradesh is bordered by Uttar Pradesh to the northeast, Gujarat to the west, Rajasthan to the northwest, Maharashtra to the south and Chattisgarh to the southeast. The second largest state in terms of area, Madhya Pradesh’s capital is the city of Bhopal. Indore is the largest city of this state.
Madhya Pradesh has an equally varied natural beauty. The hill ranges of Vindhyas and Satpuras can be found in the plateau regions of the state. The main river systems emerging from these hills are the Narmada and Tapti flowing from east to west, and Chambal, Sone, Mahanadi and Betwa flowing from west to east. The dense green forests of Madhya Pradesh are home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. One can explore the wildlife by visiting the famous national parks in the state, namely Bandhavgarh National Park and Kanha National Park, and many others. They can catch sight of tigers, bison and a wide variety of antelope and deer.
The state has experienced the rule of various dynasties, namely Mauryans, Satvahanas, Rashtrakutas, Mughals and the Marathas. Madhya Pradesh is popular for its stupas, exquisitely carved temples and monuments, and forts on hilltops. These monuments stand as living proof of the empires, of great warriors, poets, philosophers and saints that have made Madhya Pradesh their home in the past. Kalidasa, the poet and Tansen, Mughal court’s musician belonged to Madhya Pradesh. Khajuraho Temples, Sanchi Stupa, and Bhimbetka are some of the sites worth visiting in Madhya Pradesh.
This state is known for its classical and folk music contributions. It has been the birthplace of famous musicians like Tansen, Baiju Bawra, Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar. The Malwa festival and Pachmarhi festival are celebrated with great pomp and show in the state and showcase the folk and tribal cultures existing here.
