Located on the country’s southeastern coast, Andhra Pradesh is bordered by Telangana in the northwest, Odisha in the northeast, Chattisgarh in the north, Tamil Nadu in the south and Karnataka in the west. The state has the second longest coastline in the country, after Goa. Its capital city is Hyderabad which it shares with Telangana, and Vishakhapatnam is the largest city of the state and also the commercial hub.

It is blessed with a number of physiographic features like the Nallamala Forest, Eastern Ghats, deltas of two major rivers of Godavari and Krishna. It is also the largest producer of rice in India, and therefore is also called the ‘Rice Bowl of India’. A varied diversity of flora and fauna can be found in this region like tigers, panthers, hyenas, sambars and many more.

The state has a rich cultural heritage, owing to the various dynasties that have ruled this region in the past. It is known for Kuchipudi folk dance, stone craft, textile art of Kalamkari and Carnatic music. There are various museums in the state that are worth visiting, like the Archaeological Museum, Vishakha Museum and Victoria Jubilee Museum. One can also enjoy the various delicacies of Andhra Pradesh, the flavors dancing on your taste buds.

There are many religious places that can be visited by pilgrims from all around the world, such as Tirumal Temple, Srisailam Temple, Kanaka Durga Temple and Gunadala Church. Tourists can also enjoy nature at the various beaches lying on the coast of this state, namely Ramakrishna, Bheemli, Krishnapatnam, Rushikonda and Suryalanka. The Borra Caves are a must visit for the million-years old stalactite and stalagmite formations. Belum Caves are the second largest natural caves in the subcontinent and are rich in natural beauty.
